Lather and Lace ™ was founded in 2009 by Lori Abercrombie. Already an accomplished Soap Maker since 1997, Lori is most excited about Lather & Lace because it is an opportunity for her to return to her roots, growing up in the country. Ms. Abercrombie explains -

“I like to say I am channeling Mae West, with Martha Stewart ideas. It’s the attitude of saucy, sexy, but practical. I want to infuse that in Lather & Lace products. I believe in empowering my customers with information about their skin care choices and I’m a straight shooter. Nothing worse than someone who tells you all natural, when if you read the ingredients, and it clearly isn’t. My ingredients are carefully chosen to give you the best possible results.

I’ve always remembered things by their scent. Having lived my life traveling around the world, if you ask me, I will recall a place by a certain smell! I was the first one waiting for the Peonies to open at my Grandmother’s, I loved being the kid who had to go pick the mint for our tea at dinner, and in general, that’s how I file things in my memory bank.

Why the Cowgirl influence? As a child, I preferred being in the barn - helping to clean out the horse hooves and stalls to playing with dolls. Some time back in the early 2000’s, I finally made my way to the West. From that point on, I have made a pilgrimage there each year. Influenced mostly by Arizona; The Grand Canyon, Sedona, Jerome, and Prescott. I am in love with the area. It feels like home.

When I started, it really came from just a PURE love of essential oils. I was very sensitive to skin products all my life and learning about essential oils opened up my world of skin care options to scented products that didn’t cause a reaction. The jewelry came naturally too.  I’ve also always loved to construct things. My grandfather used to drill holes in buckeyes for me so I could make them into necklaces. A few years back, I was unable to make soap for a while and my love of all things that sparkle took over and out came the jewelry! This business really is a natural fit. Like your favorite jeans.

I hope you will come along for the ride. Along the way there will be more men’s products, children’s products, and even some sassy tee’s. My plan is to take you “From the Saddle, to Sassy” with skin, hair, and ultimately FUN products that fit your active lifestyle!”

Lather and Lace products are cruelty free, eco-conscious, and made by the owner. We support other small businesses and feel strongly about doing so. We are involved in several pay it forward, and fund-raising activities that you will find throughout the site.
